Can I get an ID? Aptasia?

I got an outbreak of aiptasia a few months ago and bought a peppermint shrimp. He wiped them out in about 2 weeks and now feeds regularly when I feed the tank. They are hit and miss but if you get a good one, they'll take care of them. (you may need to zap the bigger ones and leave the smaller ones for the shrimp)

And yea I'll look into getting one of those guys..

I have 1 peppermint shrimp in a 75g tank (the local LFS only had 1 left so I snagged it) but my tank has only been up for 2 weeks and I didn't want the little guys to die. But NOW, I'm gonna go get a couple more and hope they help. With a tank this big I've only seen the shrimp once. Heck I don't even know if he's still alive but I'm still gonna get a zapper lol

They're about $100. :/ but u can get them at any supply store. Check ebay maybe??

My best luck has always been with a matted filefish (sometimes sold around here as an aptasia eating filefish). They seem to be less hit or miss than peppermints and both have about the same chance of eating polyps/nems/etc.

On a side note they also seem to be easier to remove from the tank than peppermints if something goes wrong

I used this to get rid of the Aiptasia I found on my new live rock.

For a large outbreak, go with the Berghia Nudibranch.

Once they're gone, 2-3 Peppermint Shrimp will keep anymore in check.
