Can I get fish w/o perfect lighting??

So I have the new fluval lighting and the wifi controller hasn't come out yet. So I do not dim my light throughout the day since I have school. Also it is turned off an on at relatively the same time (Not exact) can I still get fish without this light being turned on and off at the exact same time every day?

Like melypr1985 stated, sure....but if you want, you can just pick up a cheap timer and use that until your WiFi controller is available.

As long as you can use a timer to set up on and off consistently, your fish will be happy. Don't manually turn them on and off unless you can constantly do it the same time everyday. It just adds some stress to the fish when things aren't consistent

Lighting for fish is so you can see it. Lighting for Corals is a different story as they need it to live. For fish only, it doesn't matter what you do.

Like others have said, try to get a timer.

Also, do you have an open top, if so, I would put a screen over it -- in case the sudden on/off of the lights makes a fish jump.
