I have a biocube 32 Gal LED tank. I don’t know based on reviews if my tank can support sps corals. Does anyone have any insight on which if any sps corals I could keep. I currently have candy canes (which are doing good), but every review I’ve seen says my stock lights are ok for LPS but not sps. I really like lepastrea (or however that’s spelled) but I don’t want to get one and it die.

How long has your aquarium been running for?

Stock LEDs are definitely not strong enough for SPS. I'd suggest getting the Steve's LEDs. I have those, and I am growing acros in my BC32.

Leptastrea is a medium to low light SPS. You should be fine.

My buddy has one and was able to keep a monti cap that grew so large he was fragging it monthly under the stock led lights in a 32 biocube. No acros, but lots of shrooms, zoas, a hammer, a torch, and a couple of acans were all doing well in it, too.

Awesome. I want an acan and a leptastrea will be most likely the others I’ll get. And pulsing Xenia but they’ll grow in a mud hole. I’ve got two candy cane colonies now. I’ll probably have to move my Aquascaping around some to get more coral in.

I really like the look of them. I thought they were LPS but I don’t know coral well. That and acan are what I’m looking at but acan is LPS isn’t it?
Yes, Leptastrea and Leptoseris are both called SPS and LPS. Either way they are both good low light corals. Acans are LPS and also a good choice and the colors are amazing. Also look at the Psammocora.

I have a 32 with stock lighting. I have thriving colonies of pocillopora and seriatopora (birds nest).i would try anything super expensive. I understand that some birds nest handle lower light better (I have the bird of paradise morph).

I have a 24 cube and have difficulties keeping alk and calcium level without a dosing pump. Something to consider.
