I epoxied a sea plume frag on my aquascape ....a few months later, I find anthelia growing out from under the edges and spreading on the aquascape. Yesterday I find a small aptasia. So yesterday I have made thin epoxy pieces that I have covered over the rock and the pests. So now I am wondering...what can I grow on the epoxy to break up the look?
I have considered something encrusting and/or zoas. What works great to cover the area under/around a sea plume that will not encrust / cover it?

I'm about to growout a bunch of cyphastrea on a dead Duncan skeleton.

Stuff will grow over and it will just look like more rock. Algae, coralline, sponges, etc. You can add encrusting corals but those can be a pain to remove. Maybe zoanthids?
