Can I own a BIOTA GREEN MANDARIN

So I have. 40 gallon display tank a 20 gallon sump I addded pods from alage barn the eco pack and added plankton for 2 weeks I have a 4 inch sand bed can I keep a Mandarin or will I not have enough pods to feed it

Of course you. One doesn’t even need to add pods, lol. Feed your fish properly and pods will be there regardless.

Nope, but typically they do eat brine or Mysis if they take to frozen foods.

Typically, the Mandarin is an exclusive POD eater and can like do 1000 per day.
A 40g, with lots of rock, mature 6 months is about the earliest I’d try that.
And that’s assuming he/she is the only exclusive POD eater in the tank.
He needs to hunt those PODS throughout the day and does best when the food is self sustainable.

I'm going to be trying it, I'm going to do it alittle unconventionally and add my Mandarin as my first fish. In order to hopefully keep things sustained I've ordered 4 16oz bottles of ecopods with 7000 or so pods per bottle. I'm hoping since they come so small that that should be enough to feed him as well as set up a sustainable copepod system.

Biota's captive bred mandarins will eat a lot of things - they make a point of making sure they eat frozen.

We have two in an IM40 at the moment. They've been in there about 4 months, and have about doubled in size. They get a lot of live baby brine, frozen brine and mysis, frozen cyclopeeze/fish eggs/etc.

So I found that alage growth is key wait for the boom in pods and algae to grow over the class and then it’s enough to feed him
