Can I protect my power strip?

Hi! Me again

The power strip for my tank was mounted in the sump... Until the salt atmosphere destroyed it and it died right before I went on vacation. (I got SO LUCKY). I moved the new one outside of the sump, but it is behind boardgames on a bookcase. Not ideal.

I took over this tank and have recently begun making practical changes and I would love to be able to move the power strip. There isn't a good place outside of the tank stand, so I am wondering if there is a safe way to put it back under there without risking randomly losing my whole tank to plug corrosion over time. Thoughts?

Many use DJ strips and mount them to the underside of the stand... Do a search here for DJ strips and you'll find some good information

I searched for lots of things (and got tons of different useful information) but couldn't answer my question... This really helps!

You might also be able to use adhesive Velcro strips to attach the power strip vertically to the outside of the stand... I know you said there isn't a good place but don't know if you considered this option.

I tried, the cats used it as a stepping stool to lay on top of the tank light

The evaporated salt seemed to be what wrecked me last time, and what has me on edge about putting anything inside the stand (even though it makes the most sense).
