Can I remove optics off of a photon

Logan,

Im having a horrible shading issue on my 5 ft tank. I do not want to buy another fixture. If i were to remove the optics on the leds closest to the darker area do you think that would help.

my tank is 5wide x 2 tall x 18 deep

any help would be appreciated

Having seen your tank photo in a couple of other threads, I'd say move the fixtures closer together and remove the lenses off the inside rows. Logan may have a better idea, but I'd try removing the lenses off the first row, skip the 2nd, remove from the 3rd, skip the 4 and remove from the 5th. My thought is you keep some intensity downward with some rows and the further from the center you get with rows of no lenses, the better chance it has to get under the brace. You said there are 2, how wide are they? Or the alternative is just try the first 3 or 4 rows. I did 3 rows off either end of a D120 and it covered about 6" more off each side (a 3' spread rather than just 2').
