Can i run filterfloss/pad and skimmer only?

It should have read 'you may need more water changes compared to other methods'. For example - the Triton method would not work, etc

In my tank - I had only filter socks and a skimmer in a sump - nothing else.

I use my canister to basically hold extra biological media. I run zero mechanical filtration outside of filter floss when I want to clear the water up and on occasions, I will drop in a bag of carbon.

Ultimately when I finish with my sump im going to use live rock and sand to handle the bulk of the filtration and chaeto to pull the junk out. Works in my head anyway.
