Can I set my light to blue only?

I have a biocube 32 and as some of you know the light is automated but sometimes the coral react to the light change and they close up right before the blue light so I don’t see anything beautiful under the blue light for a while. It has a mode when you can change it to one only and it will stay like that until you change it i was wondering if you can change that and would do no damage to my tank is it possible?

So does that mean it’s tough but it’s possible

I’m just trying to see if it works so I don’t have to worry about seeing the coral closed up during the blue light where it brings color And to fix that would do blue light 24/7

If I'm understanding your question correctly then yes its okay to turn the blues on for x amount of time while you enjoy the tank and their fluorescence. I do this with the little light on coral QT when ever I want to just sitdown in front of the tank. you may find some of your corals will start to close up if the blue is on to long though since the'y start thinking its getting close to lights out.

Actually corals will thrive under a blue light more so than that of a white light. Some of the best bulbs around for throwing off the best par are ATI Blue Plus T5 bulbs, IMO the greatest bulbs on the market for coral growth. Them combined with an LED combo can’t be beat IMO.

Blue light is 420nm to 480nm

White light is purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red all come at you at the same time. 400nm to 800nm.

The white background of the post is the combo of Red Green Blue all coming into your eyes

Corals in the wild are conditioned to photosynthesize under mostly 390-490nm blue light.

All other colors do little to nothing for corals, in most cases for most corals.

So when you run white for corals 2/3rds of light spectrum from green to red they really don't need...that where ALGAE says "yeah I'll use that green to red light to grow out all o or your LRs"

Shallow water Acros like more color than blue bc they are use to being in 10ft of crystal clear water blasted by the sun emitting lots of diff color nm.wavelength.

Deeper past 10ft down the more blue light is present bc the Saltwater filters out the yellow orange reds pretty quickly
