Can I shorten treatment to help a fish?

I've got three firefish in quarantine, and they're in their second round of Prazipro. I dosed Sunday morning and the directions say 5-7 days for best results- it's only been three days. But my water is a bit cloudy, my nitrites and nitrates are creeping up (ammonia still zero), and one of the fish is in hiding and for the past few days has shown no interest in eating. I feel flake, pellet, mysis, and occasional freeze dried bloodworms, but it ignores all options. I'd like to do a water change to address the nitrites/trates, in the hopes that perhaps that will ease any stress on the fish and get the little guy eating again, but I'm in the middle of the treatment phase of the prazipro. Since this is their second round of prazi, do you think it's okay to cut it short, or will I potentially be creating a resistant super-pest, like the bacteria that develop antibiotic resistance from people not finishing their full regimen? I feel like I know the answer- do the water change, you ninny- but I wanted to check to make sure that I wouldn't be sabotaging myself later. Thanks!

Prazi is really only effective for about 72 hours and does its job usually in 48 or less, so you should be fine to do the water change.

I have heard the same about prazi, but do not know for sure. Maybe @Humblefish could clarify.
