Since there will be no fish in the tank. Was thinking I could add a small amount of dissolved fish food into the water every three days or so. Wait a week or two and slowly add a clean up crew.

The amount of food in the water column to be successful with that would likely cause major spikes in Nitrates and Phosphates and in general pollute the system. As others have said, you need a mature system with live rock etc. Give it a few months and then give it a try.

cool, I will start with fish and cuc.

You can get them early on if you feed them constantly but its still best to wait. Mine do well off phytoplankton and powdered coral foods.
