Hello, I've been thinking of putting a small mangrove or 2 in my back sump. However, since it will be free-floating, im afraid the roots will grow too long and cause problems. So is it possible to cut small portions from the bottom of the roots when it becomes too big?

I am sure I broke and tore some of the roots when I moved my mangroves. I was under the impression mangroves were slow growing. Mine grew much faster than I expected them to. The move defiantly slowed their growth. So I would say yes but it will slow their growth. See my thread Mangrove Lagoon for more details and pics.
