Am I able to trim it for cosmetic purposes, or will it damage the coral?

I have trimmed many euphyllia stalks for the same purpose and have never lost one.

I use a serious pair of cable cutters.

You will want to make a nice clean cut and not “crush” the stalk.

What tool are you planning on using?

I have a large bolt cutter. Would that work?

pair of side cutters will work fine.just wash them off real good and remove the stalk first.don't submerge the tool in tank unless you know it is steril and free of oils or is new and washed with HOT water.
