Can I turkey Blaster the sand bed ???

Recently I saw a video to take the turkey blaster to blow at the sand bed, poke into the sand bed ,is it advisable to do that ???
Easy and quick; recommend you do before every water change and in-between to keep sand clean looking and "help" your filtration system.

I do it at every wc. I stick the baster into the sand and give it a couple of squeezes to percolate the sand and get the water column cloudy then I follow with a siphon.

Yes I siphon clean my sand bed with each water change, there is an amazing amount of gunk in the sand bed. As posted above I would not disturb a deep established sand bed much though.

I use my "Julian's Thing" with a stock (narrow) tip. I don't have to get all the way down into the sand because the narrow stream.

do you do that every day or just before water change ?
That's actually not me. It's my favorite thing to post recently.
If it were me I would do it before a water change.
But if you did this multiple times a week to where the detritus build up was minimal at all times , wouldn't matter.

I give mine a quick run around every other day- and then once a week I get a little more detailed right after scraping the glass and before the water change.

I usually use a "Julian's Thing". I've found that you need to keep the stream narrow and keep it as vertical as possible if you want to blast out detrius without moving your sand all over the place.

what equipment do you use for turkey blastering ?

Once a week, before a water change. Use something like this from TAAM. Just small enough to "stir" the sand bed a bit, not blast sand everywhere.

Got from a clearance sale at the LFS, but Amazon has them for pretty cheap. Plus, you can use it to spot feed your corals and fish (it's original, intended use, obviously).

I do this as well, except I use a coral feeder since it is longer. I don't have to put my hands in the tank and can reach the sand bed with no issues.

I would suggest giving your rock a shot also as some sand will settle on it and this will keep them clean and not so likely to "clog" up..
