Can I use kalk with a topless auto top off container

I currently run a fusion 20 gallon tank, planning to use kalk. I am thinking whether should I buy a new ato container or use my topless container? Any idea?

You can. Account for evaporation and perhaps mix in a bit less kalk.

Closed containers are best but Kalkwasser forms a film on the waters surface that will help keep air from effecting it to much.

You’ll just lose potency is all. You can use anything as a lid for it
