Can I use Kalkwasser to raise pH

So I noticed my ph Ian very low at 7.6

I happen to have some Kalkwasser on hand

I have never Tried it before and don’t exactly know what it even is. Someone gave it to me

Can I sprinkle a bit in my sump to help bring the pH up

Much better to add some to a bottle of water, make sure it dissolves and then dose slowly. Keep in mind that it will raise alkalinity and calcium too.

What s your Alk?
Chasing Ph can cause issues and we dont want fixing one, to cause another.
7.6 is low but not a problem.

No they will be ok
The pH of seawater can vary between 7.5 and 8.5 usually

Not really, I pointed the power heads up to the surface to help with gas exchange

I did add 1/8 tsp of Kalkwasser in a water bottle shaken up and dissolved

It barley moved the pH

I saw on a BRS video it said 2 tsp per gallon this was 16 oz so I tried 1/8 tsp

But if you think 7.6 isn’t to bad I will leave it. Planning a water change Sunday anyway

If you have a window close by, open it a bit. It will naturally raise your pH.
