I've been using a Trident to monitor, not dose, my 100g tank. I just received a 20g tank. Is it reasonable to take samples from the 20g, in a container, and simply place the sampling hose from the Trident in the container with the 20g sample and run manual tests on the 20g sample. After test is complete, replace sampling tube in 100g sump and let it continue to monitor 100g tank? Any issues/probles?

Theoretically yes, but if both ranks are different enough you will end up with weird graph results for tracking trends.

If you really wanted to do this, you would have to run the prime sample line a couple times when you run the test to make sure you are getting an undiluted sample to test. The when you put it back on the main tank you would have to run the prime sample line again.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
