See now I used a small amount just now lol no skin irritation. I have terribly oily skin and very bad acne. I currently live in Wisconsin but I visit Florida where my parents live at least once a year for about 2-3 weeks. I always go swimming in the ocean daily while I'm down there within a week my skin breaks out it crazy white heads. Then a few days later my skin is almost crystal clear and my acne rapidly fades. I also stayed for 3 months one year and with the same daily routine my skin was just amazing. After I came back to Wisconsin within 2 weeks my skin began to break out again. So my main question should be is there anything harmful in reef salt. When I clean my tank my hands become very soft. I looked all over google for an answer and found nothing lol. So maybe someone looking for similar information will find this.I wouldn't. Have you ever been in the ocean? It will dry out your skin and hair. I usually have to shave my head after a week of diving. That being said, I'm sure it wouldn't cause any side affects to your health, but I'm not a doctor nor a scientist.
If fish can live in it I'd think it would be ok to use. It would be expensive though.See now I used a small amount just now lol no skin irritation. I have terribly oily skin and very bad acne. It is hard to google for lol. But I worded it many ways. The way I figure it it's mostly NaCl and minerals calcium magnesium and alkalinity to mimic the ocean. But I thought I'd get some other opinions. What's in bath salt, anyway? Just NaCl and scents? That's something that's hard to google for since when you type in "bath salt" you find out about something else.

Why?
IMO, I'd avoid doing this out of concern for what bacteria, viruses, etc. might be in it.
No one is making it to avoid such pathogens.
I usually use epsom salts but when Im out; ill use dry reef salt. Screwit. Muscles are always sore, I could do with the elevated magnesium anyways. Why?

Are there all that many pathogens for humans that can survive in a bucket of dry salt? Why?
