Is it possible your sand had a pocket of dust that didn't get rinsed out, got irritated, and made a cloud? You do appear to have fine sand in there. Also ask you clowns if they've been smoking in your tank.

When I see a cloudy tank first thing I think of is ammonia. But looking at your picture I wonder how often you are cleaning your sand bed (it looks so clean). Some of the fine sands can release dust that take a day or two to settle out, especially when the sand is new. Your power head is pointed up. Is that because it was blowing your sand bed around? How many gallons is your tank? How many gallons per hour is your canister filter? If the filter is undersized it will take longer. Obviously it could be something more complicated but I like to rule out the easy stuff first. Ammonia, and dust.

Dust may be i was told not to wash live sand my filter is a fluval 306 up to 75 gallons and my tank is a 40g breeder and yes powerhead pointed up because if I don't causes a sandstorm

Correct, don't wash live sand. If your water parameters are all good, and you have an ultra fine sand. Try not disturbing the sand for a few days and concentrate on filtration. I would research the brand/size sand and read reviews. Perhaps it's a common issue with your product.

Thank you so much I will do some research on the sand
