I have a DOS pump set up to do water changes in the night. I’m having an algae outbreak and I discovered that my pump wasn’t working properly (the water line floated out of the supply water). I’d like to run a program to change a few gallons of water now then resume regular water changes tonight. How do I do that?

This has happened to me too.. I ran the task and set it up for the manual water change. Then reset the task for the automatic water change the next day.

Yes but the pump will only spin so fast. Due to this there is restrictions on how many gallons per hour.
It will pump a little over a gallon an hour (I believe it’s 1.3). Even if I did a program to change 5-6 gallons in 5 or 6 hours that would be easy to run again tomorrow. It may not matter. I assume that since I got the water line fixed that even small daily changes will accomplish the same thing as one big water change.

Have you checked your salinity? If you were taking water out but not replacing the water from the supply, your salinity could have dropped as well.

I change the time interval and volume of water to change at times. For example, I did use chemiclean at one point and increased the volume of water changes following that for a period of tim. The DOS won't let you send the programming if you're trying to change too much water in too short of an interval.

The salinity did drop, I’ve rectified that. I’m not changing a lot per day, just 2.5 gallons on a 125 gallon tank. It did lower it enough that the alarm went off.
I went ahead and scheduled a 20 gallon change over 24 hours. I’ll see where I stand tomorrow and if need be I’ll do 20 gallons again before resuming the 2.5 gallons a day program.
