Can inverts like shrimp bring ich

I know inverts dont catch ich.. but what about bring ich ? I just got iver ich and won the battle over many many many months.. and lost fish.. hyposalinity prevailed.

But i was wondering can ich be brought in from shrimp. Ill probly not risk it but yea petco has a few coral banded shrimp.. always wanted one.. but there tanks are infested with disease.. ich and evrrything else..

For that reason i probly wont risk it but im just curious

Yes the shell of a shrimp can have an encysted tomont attached to the shell which would be capable of releasing free swimmers looking for a fish to host once it joins your population.

Shrimp should be held in a separate fish-less QT for up to 76 days or until the first molt is observed. After a molt they are safe to move to DT but you must give them a very thorough rinse with DT water before adding to the display.

The 3 stages of ich are
trophont; attaches to fish. this is what you see on the fish
tomont; may swim for several hours before settling on and attaching to the substrate, a plant, or some other surface like a shrimp or snail shell
thermonts; hatched out and must find fish to survive
