My sps has been doing great until I went on vacation. I went away for a week and when I returned home I noticed some of the tips looked like the recessed and on a couple others no tip issue but decreased polyp extension.

I normally feed about 7 cubes of frozen a day in my 180 plus pellets a couple times a day, while on vacation I only had the feeder do the pellets. Alk normally stays at 7.8 dkh and when I got home from being gone alk was 6.8 dkh.

Can alk lowing cause an issue? I know it raising can but don't know if lowing can? I did have my skimmer off the whole time while gone so that might ofmchanged my ph also.

I agree but I wasn't home to screw anything else up. Only other thing I can think of is skimmer being off which normally helps keep my ph up.

I have been home a week now and I would think the couple showing no polyps would start again if it was a ph issue.

Not really, po4 went up a tiny bit to .03 from .02 and no3 stays undetectable because of my chaeto. Cutting the food input by a lot probably helped equalize having no skimmer.
