Hey everyone, I have a platy brain that extends quite long sweepers at night, I was wondering if it would be okay to put another brain of a different color next to it?

Has it been done successfully lmk

I am regretting the placement of my 2 brain corals. They are maybe 2-3 inches apart. At night, they both have long sweeper tentacles, and as you can see, they have attached themselves pretty well to the rock. At some point, I am going to have to cut or break this rock apart. So far, they have not hurt each other. I will try to observe more closely tonight to see if their sweeper tentacles are touching each other, but I don’t believe they do. As they grow, that may change.

Thanks I'd appreciate it. I have read that even tho they have long sweepers they are not very strong

Well, from what I’m seeing so far, the night time sweeper tentacles don’t seem to be that long. Maybe only 1/4” or so. I thought I remember them reaching out farther, but maybe that’ll be later in the night. My lights have been off for only about 2 hours at this point.

Hey guys! I got an Alien Maze Brain frag and not sure where to place it yet... i got some live rock it can have to itself but wondered if there are any other corals unaffected by these tentacles? if not i might just get a smaller piece for itself since the one i got would take it quite a while to fill out and id rather use it for multiple gems.

anyone got any advice on the maze brains stinging each other?

How did this end up?

A true maze brain (platygyra) is not aggressive, it has short sweepers so cant reach anything. Platygyra gets confused with paragon coral, which looks the same but is a very aggressive coral with long sweepers. I have corals right beside my platygyra and nothing is bothered by it.

My neon will stream a inch long. It sting an acan that lost that polyp. I don't know is they will sting each other. I've seen large colonies that look like they were mixed.
