I woke up this morning to find my clown fish dead inside my mushroom coral. I’ve had this fish for a few years and the mushroom for more than 5 years. My clown likes to sleep in the mushrooms at night. My clown has been eating very well and looked quite healthy. Can a mushroom kill a healthy fish. The fish looked good at night when the lights went off.

Here are the photos from this morning. I removed the fish and he was dead.

Mushroom or many coral will not kill a fish however if fish died overnight and drifted towards the mushroom, it will gladly accept it as a meal if it is able to ingest it. If the mushroom didnt get it, the clean up screw would have.
