Been sending in triton tests periodically over the last year and for the most part they have all been pretty consistent. I seem to have the high lithium thing as well as " V " but my latest test had a bit of a change in iodine, showing zero .

is that even possible?

Three months ago my PH showed 9.2.
Didn't noticed it till a week later but my APEX and corals said different.
I'm sure it was a misprint or some sort, but it makes you wonder.
lithium it seems a lot of ppl have problems with that but Randy mentioned that it's still way below level that it will hurt corals.

With respect to iodine, I'm not sure how to reconcile the numbers coming from Triton and those attained with kits, except by assuming that there may be significant organic iodine forms (which Triton detects but kits do not) in some aquaria since some of those folks are not dosing and yet get well above natural levels (and do not detect much with a kit).

As to having none, I do not know if that is an error or not, but their limit of detection is only 0.006 ppm (6 ug/L), which is about 1/10 of the natural level of 0.06 ppm. (and 1/4 of your previous reading). It would not surprise me if in a tank not dosing iodine and having organisms, such as algae, that take it up, that this low level was attained. I've certainly tracked iodide to be rapidly depleted.

I'm not sure how you'd get the dose exactly right except by long trial and error. I'm also not sure why they tied these three elements together as I see little reason to think the demand for one indicates the demand for all three. For example, iodine is rapidly depleted in my tank, but potassium does not get depleted.

On iodine, I dosed it regularly for years. Then I stopped. Nothing apparently changed. Many people have had that experience and I am not currently convinced that supplementing iodine is useful for most reef aquaria.

So personally, I'd have no use for this product. :)
