Can my Trachy be dead ?

Hello all !
I have this trachy since 4month, and he was really healthy,puffy, eat really well each week (reef roids)
Pictures of him like 2-3 weeks ago

And how he look now since 1 week

He don't have loose any colors or flesh, but he's deflated completely, and his mouth is always open. He's not responding at all when I try to feed him, or if something touch him no reaction too.. I'm really worried about him he's my favorite coral
Can he be already dead .. ? And it's just a question of time before he start loosing color or flesh ?
Nothing have change in my routine, here's my parameters from yesterday:

20ppm nitrate is huuuge. Everything is great except I would try to get your Nitrates down to about 5.
Try to keep a ratio of 100 to 1 Nitrate to Phosphate. So 0,05ppm Phosphate, your nitrate should be 5.
I wouldn't exceed 12 nitrate but I've heard good things holding around 10 but it's kinda running a finer line if you get me.
I don't think it's dead yet, just stressed/weakened and it can be helped I believe.
It could be poor water flow, aggressive tank mates or excessive lighting and I would advise against feeding it for now to allow it to recover.
So make sure it's in a spot with moderate flow and lighting, and try to get those nitrates down with a waterchange.

Yea I'm on the nitrate right now, ill do bigger water change to reduce them, but my nitrate was always been at this level.. no change about that so I don't think it can be the main issue for my trachy ?

I'm looking at your Anemone and Torch coral in the background and they look surprisingly great.
And I would think the Torch would show stress because of a nutrient problem first.
Yeah I'm not sure. Nitrate would be my best bet but it could be maybe tank mates? Anything messing with it, might even need a dip but I wouldn't do anything too invasive too soon.

20ppm nitrate is fine. Instead of reef roids, try some meaty foods like mysis or LRS reef frenzy.

I wouldn't say nitrates are super high at 20ppm. Now 50+ absolutely,but thats not terrible where it is. Something may have just caused it to be mad atm,give it a few hours and see what it looks like.

Radiom xr15 G5 Blue at 65% (approx 170 PAR on the sand bed) and jebao mlw-5 for wave maker and DC 1200 pump for the return

I can’t give you a definite cause, but if it were mine, I’d lower the lights down and see what happens. Maybe around 80-100 par on the sand. Or move it to a lower par area. I don’t think it is the water chemistry as long as those numbers aren’t fluctuating a lot.

Yeah I just put in in a shader area, and my parameters are pretty stable

My tank currently runs at 20 ppm nitrate and my Trachy is doing fine on sandbed at about 100 par. I’ve only feed it mysis mix with benepets once every 2-3 weeks.

As others have said, 20ppm nitrates isn't an issue, I'd try a shadier area.

I don't see NO3 at 20 being a problem for any of my corals. These from frags including the acro on the back wall NO3 20+ PO4 0.3 - 0.4 this is only 1/2 of the tank

Little update, sad news.. he have became to desintagrate today, My only hope is I can see a little bit his "intestine" inside the mouth, but I'm almost sure he's a goner

Don't know how it can be possible to die like this without any signs (like loosing color, flesh or anything like that)

I would dip in cipro revive and chemiclean for a couple hours floating in a container so not to introduce antibiotics into the aquarium i have many trachys and have saved a couple this way most recently one with bad tissue loss a week of dips for a couple hours a day followed by an iodine bath its good as new and doing well again

Mine did exactly the same thing.
All of them. After 6-8 months. Just shriveled and died.
Everyone else happy, just the Tracs, 4 of them.
wondering if they are not good with captivity.

Also, long tentacle plates and elegance. For me, 6 months best.

Mine and the one of my friend have died in 1month interval, both came from the same batch.. maybe some have hard time in captivity
