Can only grow softies

1year old 60 gallon cube. No problems with shrooms and Zoas. Can cot keep anything else alive! What’s the secret? Went through a phase where PO4 and NO3 were 0! Probably false negative! How is one to know? I am back in after a 10 year absence. Went bare bottom this time! Starting to have the same frustrations that made me quit the first time.

how old is your tank? barebottom tanks are a biggest PITA for the first year especially if using dry rock to start it.

Basement sump (trigger emerald) w/ato
6 stage rodi (0tds)
Dalua skimmer (works great)
25 watt uv
DOS for Alk and Cal
Run a chiller in summer. Temp stays constant at 77.8
Run carbon and just restarted gfo through dual reactor

If you can only keep softies then maybe its a high nutrient issue.

Dry rock starts suck for sure, but you should still be able to keep some LPS no doubt.
