Can Potter's Angels mix with reef?

Potter's are by far my favorite pygmy angel. I have had 2 over the years but neither survived. I have no clue why either. I know one did not eat that I could see :9( One the 2 separate occasions I had them in a 135g mixed reef with peaceful fish. I now I have a 180g and am wondering if I should try again. I HATE losing any fish and rarely do. I have several fish that are over 15 yrs old. So, my questions are, is there a secret to success? Do you feel that having a pair or more would be helpful? Lastly, I have a flame angel in the 180g which is a model citizen, would you try to add a potters or more, or not? Apologies for asking questions in your thread.

This is a fish that Struggles be managed in systems with ich (that have ever had ich and have not been run fallow with all fish being treated and new additions treated and qt'd properly).

I killed probably 10 over the years trying to keep them in systems with ich. I also successfully kept a dozen or so in systems with ich and they eventually did fine.

However it is not ethical IMO to subject this species (and probably any other) in a system where ich is basically shooting fish in a barrel (closed system)

I also believe getting ones from places like DD is a big help, local hobbyist that's had it awhile in captivity even better. These are one of those fish that some just refuse to be put in a glass box. Ones that are really new from the ocean are kinda a crap shoot I believe for that reason. They'll just refuse to eat and wither away.
This is strictly from reading and asking questions about them. Not first hand experience because this is my first potters angel.

I killed probably 6 from DD in a system with ich. I was hard headed - I had kept them this way before and couldn't accept that it was ich causing the issue. I bought TWO after I properly began QTing them and have lost NEITHER. Both are thriving. I have a handsome male currently

All fish were/are QT'd. No ich either, at least none observed. One tang in the system (purple) and I've had her for years. The 180 has been setup for 1 year so I'm really wanting to get 1-3 Potter's. Just hoping that you that have them can possibly add more to my knowledge base on them. I put them up there on the difficulty list as like the Sunburst(Fathead) Anthia...my second favorite fish!

It's not a matter of if you can mix it with a reef, it's a matter of when it will eat your reef. The best angels to have in a reef are the genicanthus angels. Otherwise, you'll have to pull them out sooner or later.

I have no problem with them in a reef because if they would start to eat the corals, I would just put them in a LR-species tank:0)
