I ran my aquatic life rodi buddy all day today to fill a 20 gallon trashcan. I just turned it off and noticed the unit was hot to the touch (specifically the ro membrane). The water I was using was cold. But both the waste water and filtered water were warm?? Did it heat itself up through friction or something?

Never heard of this. It'd take a lot of heat to heat up the wastewater volume.
If you were a customer, we would attribute it to operator error.
You had the hot water on.

I run it through a shower hook up. I thought I was crazy so I unplugged it without touching the nozzle to feel the water. It was cold. I then plugged it back it, waited a few minutes, and the water coming out was still hot.

I just let it cool and then tried it again and it became hot after like a minute. Is something reacting in there? I'm very confused
