Can seaweed turn your tank green?

I have clips that I put seaweed for my tang to eat. Before doing so my tank wasn't turning green (not algae green) still green though.

I do water changes every Sunday parameters are good

Please help
 
It may just be a film algae or it might be a type of coralline, sometimes you see it as a precursor to pink and purple coralline. If it turn into a filamentous algae consider bulking up on your snail and other invert types as well as checking for increased phosphate levels.
