Can snails die holding onto live rock?

I bought 3 Astrea snails 3 days ago. When I put them in, they moved around for 5 hours, but haven't moved since then. 2 of them are upside down on the live rock. Is it possible for the snails to be upside down, but dead? Is it some sort of suction that doesn't break even when they die? Thanks

If there still attached to the rock then there probably still alive. If you want to know for sure just poke one with your finger and you should be able to feel how secure it is. Not moving for long periods of time is quite normal though, especially for new additions. I wouldn't panic just yet. GL.

If they are attached to the rock I'd say they're alive...maybe just getting used to the tank still

If they are upside down, tip them back over.
Astrea snails don't right themselves very well.
