Hello can someone help me with my over flow would like to make silent tank 60x24x24 over flow box 2-1" bulk heads pump super dart 3600-4200 gph ??? And pic would help

put a plastic ball valve in the return line to slow down the flow so that, the return is not pushing as much water in to the tank, adjust till the sound stops, then the output off the pump matches the intake of the overflow. i do believe that should help dr fosters sells them for like $3

With two 1" drains you are going to be limited to 600-800 gph on each so you are around a total drain capability of approx 1200 to 1600gph and with your dart pump pushing 3600 to 4200 gph you are going to have to seriously reduce the flow from the dart return pump. This may cause additional wear on your pump and generate extra heat for the tank. I personally try to match my return pump with my drain capacity then add the flow to the tank with powerheads. For a quiet tank I recommend to pay very close attention to your durso or what every system you choose to make sure of their height and air flow this will prevent the gurgle and waterfall noise. The best piece of advice I received when setting up a tank was pretty simple " Do it Right and you can Sleep at Night"

My dart is t off in 5 diffent place for reactors now how do make silent over flow with out the Herbie overflow

Make Your Own Durso Standpipe

This is what I do on my tanks and have done on friends tanks. My advice is to use threaded bulkheads and do not glue the parts to the pipe this is a pretty simple way to do it and mine have all been very quiet.

Reef Fish,

What is the GPH of the Overflow?

I agree you need to match this overflow with your Pump. I went with a pump that is rated at 320 GPH and the Overflow box 300.

I also saw where you are using an overflow box. make sure to put an aqualifter on it so it will start the siphon incase of power failure or you will be pumping water onto the floor. A duroso will not work for you I dont think.

Troylee now why didn't I think of this? however a Bean Animal will require you to drill the tank. You need to make sure this is possible.

BTW do you have a link to the Bean Animal Thread?

Ok so the tank is drilled at the bottom? Is there two holes?

I believe that would be a durso type overflow. correct..
