I’m new to all of this and I don’t have a Par meter and I really have no idea if my lighting schedule is adequate or not. Any criticism is appreciated.
I have a 4x2x2 120 gallon DT. I’m running a 48” 6 bulb T5 Nova Extreme Pro fixture and supplementing with a 48” Reef Brite Lumi Lite actinic LED bar
In my T5 I’m running 4 Blue +, one Coral +, and one Purple + bulb. 2 Blue + and on their own switch while the other 4 bulbs are on a different switch.
So here’s the schedule I’ve been running for about 6 weeks.
7 AM - LED actinics come on.
9 AM - 2 Blue + T5 come on. (LED still on)
11 AM - LED actinics turn off and 4 bulb T5 comes on. (All 6 T5 bulbs are on now)
5 PM - 4 bulb T5 turns off (2 bulb T5 still on) and LED strip turns on.
7 PM - 2 bulb T5 turns off
9 PM - LED strip turns off
The ReefBrite Lumi Lite is very very deep blues. I’m using this as kind of a sunrise/sunset mode.
I just have no idea if this is an ok schedule enough. I don’t know if my lights are on long enough or not enough.
I have a mushroom, candy cane and hammer coral. The hammer and candy cane are only a couple days old but are doing pretty well. The hammer isn’t 100% open but probably 70%. The others are doing well.
I appreciate your thoughts.
