Can someone explain Corals in the simplest way possible?

Im trying to understnad the diffent types of corals, and for the most part, I kinda get it but Im still a bit confused, Could someone explain the differences between SPS, LPS, and Soft Coral (and anything else if Im missing it). I've tryed reaseaching it on my own but I get overwhelmed with all the informention presented.
