In the past, my zoas have always grown out evenly. These have grown for the last 9 months from 2 polyp frags about 18" under evergrow LEDs with 90 degree optics. About 3 weeks ago I retrofitted a couple t5's to even out my light distribution. The strange thing to me is it looks like after the initial cluster growth, the main colony is sending out runners.... is this normal?

Interesting defense mechanism..... I turned down the daylights(20%) and actinic(50%) LEDs when I added the T5. I will give it a little bit of time to see if they start to fill in or continue to run away. I wish I had a par meter but nobody around me owns one. I also turned down my Gyre last night as well because I noticed it may have been blowing some newly added LPS a bit too hard.
