Suck out what you can remove by hand or with a toothbrush during water changes.

Will this harm the coral?
yes hydrogen peroxide will harm the coral ... but sometimes its worth the loss to get to the other side of the problem... Recently I had a nice rock but some nuisance algae and just got frustrated and tossed into trash as I couldn't get into all its gorgeous nooks & crannies... While that may sound extreme, it brought me tremendous calm

I would take out that rock and burn it... JK.

But do you really want a xenia in your tank?

And that GHA. I would take it out, scrub it all out, dip it on hydrogen peroxide for few hours. Rinse it with new saltwater before putting it back in the tank

New people love Xenia... my BF is so excited its taking over corner of tank... Me, not so much and hoping it stays on its original 'island' rock and doesn't find way to jump off to other rocks/locations...

It will jump... Just wait for it, all the sudden, you'll see them pop up on places you don't want them to be

Does the xenia have enough of a stem/trunk that you could cut it off? It can be reattached to the rock after cleaning or put on another rock. It's not difficult. Put the cutting into a shot glass or small container (inside the tank) with sand and/or rubble in it. Put something over the top to keep it inside, but allow circulation. After a couple of days the cut area will stick to some of it and then you glue it to a rock. I just did a cutting yesterday. I don't bother with rubble. I just let it stick to sand and glue the sandy area of the cutting to a rock.
