Just received a new Nem today in the mail. Purchased from saltwaterfish.com

I ordered a bubble tip, and this is what I got:

fish20sec - YouTube

It has a green outer band of short "tentacles?" and in the middle is almost a flesh/pink color with very white fleshy pieces of "something" attached.

We set it on one of the upper rocks, but it wasnt happy and did attach. So we put it in the sand, and within 5 mintues was attached to the small rock that it is attached on in the video.
Not long after that, my clownfish started to swim around it and then proceeded to start pulling those fleshy white pieces off.

So I am wondering, is this actually a bubble tip and that is what they look like when you get them in the mail? Or is it a bubble tip and something is wrong with it? Or is it not a
bubble tip at all, but some other kind of anemone.

Here is a very blue (sorry) pic of it up close.

How did you acclimate it?
How did it look before you opened the bag?

Looks like it is pretty stressed out --- luckily E. quadricolors are pretty hardy, as far as anemones go, and it could recover.

What size tank?
What lights?
Current water parameters --- with numbers please.
How long has your tank been set up?

+1.

Make sure you hold onto the pics if he dies. SWF was really good with handling the breakage of one PC my corals.
He is in very rough shape....if he dissolves any more, it may be wise to pull him carefully out of the tank

Thanks everyone who replied to my post. But the Nem didn't make it. Detached from the rock and starting losing its insides. I have contacted SWF and will see what they say.
