Yes that thing and is it good or bad or doesn't it affect anything?If you mean the thing right in the middle of the picture, it's a coral skeleton, looks like a Leptoseris sp.
You mean the live rock is now dead? Or there was some kind of coral or somthing there before sorry if it sounds like a stupid question still pretty new to this stuffIt's just part of the rock now. At one point it was living but you've got nothing to worry about, it's just additional surface area at this point.
Ok! Thank you very muchIt's not stupid, a lot of this can be quite confusing when you're learning. Your love rock is still "live" I meant that the coral is dead (probably has been for some time) and is part of the rock.
