yes, it's a gorgonian. I have one that is smaller but very similar. It is the photosynthetic type which tend to fare better than the non-photosynthetic. You have a very nice piece there!

I bought it with a live rock purchase a few months back. Now i am moving my small 20g into a 40g tank.
