That is a vermented snail. They can be annoying and cause polyps to close up if a coral is placed close to it but wont kill anything. Just ugly and annoying

how the hell.... I muriatic acid washed this rock a month before it went in the tank.. that double/triple tube looking tree like thing is a snail? cause I can probably count like 100 or so growing on the rock(s) .. should I pull that rock out and acid bath it again?

I would

They're kinda cool in my opinion. If you watch when you feed you may see their long streamers. If you acid bathed the rock they may just be the shells.

I would not. Your always going to have something on the rocks growing and building diversity, it could even be dead but it just didn't fall off.

could be dead. look for them to shoot out annoying “webbing” gunk.

No, not needed. That seems like a lot of work and your rock would have to go back through curing. It probably came in as a hitchhiker off a coral......etc.

They will kinda self regulate depending on available food. When you see one, just remove it.

only thing that is new is that rock... and sand other then the upgrade form 60 to a 135.. better lighting etc.. till today I never noticed any of it..

no real coral and everything that's in there has been there for months.. frogspawn and a nem.. nnow I probably know why my other 2 nem's (split form original) wasn't happy moving around .. to manually remove probably take me a day.. just took one rock out.. worst then it looked..

My frogspawn is the largest source of these guys. They make their tubes alone the skeleton of the frogspawn
