Been running different lights on my fluval 6. No reef light I’ve found so far will work. Even a wide spread 360.

My 16” finnex works but it’s designed for plant growth. To much algae.

Would like to pay someone to make me a light fixture if anyone is up to the task. I’m extremely short on this for diy right now with work.

Can be no longer than 16 3/4”.
3” wide max
About a 1” high

Tank dimensions 16 3/4L x 10”w x 9” deep.
Torches, maxima, and Duncan’s need to be lit. Would like very dim moon lights if possible and main to dim if possible also.

Can send a new finnex light to change leds over if that would be easier.

Willing to pay a pretty penny for it.

Convo me if interested please.

Thanks.

Not sure if he has the time but @dantimdad is very knowledgeable and pretty darn tootin' good with LED DIY builds. (Don't tell him I said that as I don't want him thinking I admire his LED work! Lol)

If you like the fixture, swapping the board used in the Finnex would probably be the easiest. I used to run LEDs in converted CFL fixtures for planted setups.

I really do like the fixture. Just ordered another. Hopefully someone will have time to build it for me.

what about one of Steve's 12in booster bars? or just use his heatsink with your own led stars? would be a pretty easy diy. actually looking at that for a retrofit to upgrade my fluval flex. (using his heatsink)

Just get a set of these.. pick your color..4 bars is 3" wide approx 36W total.. hopefully you have some slack in the 3" ..in case..

Lights Size: .7 in X .4 in X 11.63 in each bar
SUNSETTER NOW AVAILABLE - This will run both channels of your ReefBars with Sunset, Sunrise, thunderstorms, moonlight, and everything else you can think of. Just plug in, use the preset timers or customize a timer and everything will just run on its own. If you select Sunsetter then you will receive one power supply, 2x 6ft extensions, sunsetter and 4 bars. That is everything needed to run the setup.

4 bars: PAR 115 at 18 inches under water and maintains 100 down to 22 inches

Found a 30 watt 10” on eBay. Ordered that Saturday. If that won’t work I’m definitely going to try these. I’m looking for around 30-32 watt max.

What spectrum would I be looking for on these? Want white with some blue for the overall look, maxima and torches, might add Duncan’s also.

Just ordered a setup from them. Hope they are as nice as they look. Killer price for those.

Thank you for the help on this. Much appreciated!

Look at Reef Brite Lumilite. These should solve the problem and available in all kinds of lengths.
Also, light color does not affect algae growth.

I am in pre production on a light for the fluval evo 13. contact me for more info.
