Can someone please tell me what this is?

My corals are growing like crazy. My SPS all have doubled in size and are doing PE during the day now. My LPS are getting huge. But this stuff is starting to cover everything. My wrasse and fox face pick at it and it comes up in sheets. It's actually starting to cover my Zoa garden.

I can't say for sure. But my best guess is Cyanobacteria.

I was thinking same. I will have to do some research on how to treat it. Any suggestions from anyone?

Agree. Cyanobacteria. Chemiclean works wonders and it doesn't affect corals or fish as long as you introduce an air stone during treatment and follow directions.
Cyano is an introduced bacteria so it probably came in on a frag.

I just recently added several new SPS frags. But I always dip in revive. I will look into chemclean.

How's your flow. Almost every time I've had a cyano outbreak it was because my flow was reduced, usually caused by a clogged return pump.

It's also a good idea to siphon out as much as you can, it will help eliminate it.

I'm going to look at my LFS tomorrow for chemclean and do a 5 gallon water change tomorrow. It looks like it will be easy to siphon out. I would tonight but it's date night with the wife. Sooo. Lol

Sucked up as much as possible, did a water change, added a less air block to the sup, and dosed the chempure. Corals still seem happy and extended, the fish still hungry, so hopefully in 48 hours It will be gone.

48 hours later and all the red slime is gone!! Chemclean worked wonders. I have to admit I was skeptical but it worked. Getting ready now to do my water change and start the carbon reactor back up.
