Can someone please tell me what this is

Hi everyone,
I'm new.. I set this tank up 8 months ago and I'm slowly getting it figured out..... I've fought algae pretty much since the start and I think through patience and determination I have it mostly under control.... Except this red stuff continues to show up literally overnight.. It kind of holds together when I clean it out, but it always returns..... I just want to be 100% confident with what I am dealing with.....
Any help would be very much appreciated!!!

Cyanobacteria. Pretty common. Manual removal and increased flow oftentimes helps.
Check your nutrient levels too. Often a sign something is amiss

Looks like a type of cyano to me. Its common in areas with low flow.

Either cyanobacteria (red slime) or dinoflagellates. I'd say treat for cyano and go from there. There are a lot of good products for cyano

Thanks Everyone! Thats what I thought. I will add some ChemiClean.... Should I turn up my flow? I only have the gyre set at about 30%... I feel bad for the fish.. I feel like they will get tired of swimming in all that current...

Current is normal even in ocean setting. Direct flow towards sandbed without agitating the sandbed. cerith snails and blue leg hermits will help keep this loose.

Yes increase flow with chemiclean. Id also move the powerhead closer to the surface, and take the cup off your protein skimmer but keep on, no skimmer add an air stone to your return compartment.

low o2 is very common with this product.
I personally prefer nutrient control over using it, i have never had cyano that was wide spread without an underlying increased po4 somewhere, be it the water or absorbed by the sand or rock.
