Corals just like all things eventually die… however most of the time there are causes. Has it gotten enough food?
He never ate I didn’t even know they ate I put shrimp on top of him and it just sat there lol he’s gone 4 years no food and before this he just kept spreading he started from alittle fragCorals just like all things eventually die… however most of the time there are causes. Can you elaborate on ‘all water parameters’? Maybe provide alk, calcium, phosphate, temp, salinity, and lights?
Have you changed the lighting recently? He never ate I didn’t even know they ate I put shrimp on top of him and it just sat there lol he’s gone 4 years no food and before this he just kept spreading he started from alittle frag
I’ll get it all tomorrow I bring it to my lfs he says everything’s good I forgot the specific numbers he said your magnesium’s alittle low but not a issue at all (he said it’s so low he wouldn’t even dose it) and to keep doing what im doingCan you elaborate on ‘all water parameters’? I don’t Target feed Monti’s eitherHe never ate I didn’t even know they ate I put shrimp on top of him and it just sat there lol he’s gone 4 years no food and before this he just kept spreading he started from alittle frag
What lights do you use? If they are T5’s or MH, maybe need to change themI’ll get it all tomorrow I bring it to my lfs he says everything’s good I forgot the specific numbers he said your magnesium’s alittle low but not a issue at all (he said it’s so low he wouldn’t even dose it) and to keep doing what im doing
The lighting is the same I mean it’s never been constant it’s a knob to increase intensity so throughout the day I start low then medium then some days high but majority of my other corals hate the high intensity setting but honestly I’ve barely used it even in the beginning I usually leave it on mediumHave you changed the lighting recently?
Are these Metal halide, LED, T5 fluorescent? Bulbs do degrade over time and wondering if that could be an issue. How long has this deterioration been occurring? For Monti’s, I tend to look at the phosphate level firstThe lighting is the same I mean it’s never been constant it’s a knob to increase intensity so throughout the day I start low then medium then some days high but majority of my other corals hate the high intensity setting but honestly I’ve barely used it even in the beginning I usually leave it on medium
I’ll get phosphate first thing tomorrow but this guy knows his stuff I trust him when he says everything’s good but your right my leds are 5 years old ...maybe time to get new ones?? I never even thought of that tbh interesting they’re kessil if it mattersAre these Metal halide, LED, T5 fluorescent? Bulbs do degrade over time and wondering if that could be an issue. Hmm, less leery of lights degrading if they are LED. Check Nitrates too at the store.I’ll get phosphate first thing tomorrow but this guy knows his stuff I trust him when he says everything’s good but your right my leds are 5 years old ...maybe time to get new ones??
