Thinking Diatoms, but no one has confirmed. Please help and what do I do, just let them run?

Diatoms if your tank is newish (under a few months old). If your tank is older it is some form of algae/cyano/dinoflagellates. If diatoms is the answer, just leave it alone and they'll go away. Diatoms are able to bloom like that with the presence of silicates in the water. Typically those found in new unused sand, brand new glass, and fresh silicone seals. They'll consume all the free silicates within a month or two and disappear.

I just put my hand in the tank and lightly swish the sand around to keep it turned up so it stays looking nice. When I do a water change I also stick the tube in the sand and then pinch the tube so the sand falls out but the suction keeps going. I also bought a few nassarius snails. They keep the sand moved around and looking nice and white. Not much you can do about it but like Bpb said, it'll go away on its own. Natural part of the tank in my experience

I am about 6 months in. Starting to get the corline algae in the power heads and back of the tank and a little in the sump. Been through Dino once on the rocks, H2O2 and 3 days of dark beat that. Found Bubble algae once on a coral plug but removed it, and had this once before but not as bad. Only appearing on the sand. Got a larger powerhead to get some more current in there. Will feeding my corals help this stuff or doesnt it really matter?
