So I got a some frags from a guy on a local page and he gave me this thing with a tiny piece of pink on it. It's grown to this, it turns out I like it but I have no idea what it is. "not the nosey clown lol"

Not the best picture but it's pinkish orange, with little purple things that come out of it.

Yeah it sucks I got the new s21ultra because it's supposed to have an amazing camera... but it sucks for aquarium shots I need a different camera.

Yeah you’ve gotta use something where you can dial in the white balance to offset the tank lights. Usually there’s good camera apps that can help

that being said it looks like a nice piece and is happy! I’d try to reach out to whoever you got it from for the specifics if you can still find them. That’s the only way I’ve been able to point of sale identify a number of my frags

Yeah, I think I want more similar ones. Now that I know its a Monti pretty clear it's a mystic sunset. says it's a hardy encrusting monti, now I need to look for other hardy ones with contrasting colors.

Here I have some camera settings I use on my s10 in pro mode for better shots when my blues are on

With custom settings

Without settings
Hope this helps. I would would love to get a better camera like the s21 ultra or even the "old" note 20 ultra

I like the filters you are using... Myself, when I want to take tank shots, I simply dial up the white lights on the tank. Seems to work reasonably well.

It does seem to keep most of the color to so I don't mess with any of the color balances

I also have a Galaxy s10+ and it has a great camera. I actually have never really fiddled much with all of the functions on it so I honestly can't say if I can get good tank pictures with it or not. The few shots I have taken with it are generally good ones.

For my tank shots, I use a full function DSLR camera. I have a Cannon Rebel T7 that I absolutely love. I could use a couple better lenses for close-ups, but the bundle I got is awesome for everyday use.

Turn the flash off, or turn off whatever light source is in the top corner. That will help a lot.

And then download the "Snapseed" app.

Looks to me like a mystic sunset monti.

Thanks for the tips I did some different settings and what finally got it was, this camera seems to be meant for farther distance so I sit half way across the room with zoom on and this is the diff. Yeah it's on blue and it's barely open from the fish trying to hpoto bomb

First one is the zoomed from the middle of the room
