Hello I made my second icp with fauna marin after the first test showed me that I had too much copper, zinc, nickel, manganese, phosphate I.
I had made 2x 50% water changes + 5 times 20%. Copper is 50%(25 to 11) better, but shouldn't it be completely green with all the water changes? Nickel is still practically the same how is it possible? Manganese and silicon is even higher. Aluminum that was normal has now exploded (where did that come from ?)! I also don't understand why I don't have enough potassium, bore, iode, vanadium, molybdène. Changing a lot of water with tropic marine pro reef should have fill out everything but not empty the elements? ? phosphate is now at 0.09 although my Hanna had shown 0.14 and tropic marin> 1( I trust the hanna kh test but not the ultra phosphat, sometimes the same day it shows me 0,2 then two hours laters 0,08!!and I do it consciousnessly)
Can this icp be right?

I don’t know. But if it were my tank, I would double check all magnets, pumps, and heaters for corrosion. Using cuprisorb might help reduce the metals as well. Are your tank inhabitant doing well?

Do you use marinepure?

I had high copper in my first fauna marin ICP test. Copper was 60 μg/liter but all my inverts were fine. Didn’t make sense to me.

I did large water change and started cuprisorb and next test with ATI was undetectable.

I was feeding my tank daily with phyto for the first sample. Maybe that or the other microbes that eat the phyto made it into my water. I stopped because most F/2 fertilizer has copper and I thought this had built up somehow in my tank.

The second ICP With undetectable copper, I had stopped dosing phyto so maybe there was less of a microbe population with copper in it.

I have started dosing phyto again and when I do a test in the future I will use a small micron filter to remove the particles that may skew the results.

I’ve sent out 3 of the 4 pack of fauna Marin ICP tests. I’ve had a similar experience with the results after a bunch of big water changes, they just don’t seem right. I think going forward I’m going to try ATI.

The cupper problem I think came from the magnet of the wave box that was broken and rost, but this is fixed now.
