Can using your TDS meter in saltwater damage it

I put my tds meter in saltwater without knowing it could damage it, now when I test my water I’m getting 1-2 ppm instead of zero. Did I break it or is my DI going bad, I’ve only had the di cartrige for 3 months and only used it 3 times.

I don't think it will damage it. I put mine in salt before and it may just have some salt residue on the probe. I just had to change my DI I was getting 1-2pmm.
Hahaha my DI was actually pretty funk once I took out out from under the sink into bright light. Your may need to change it more often due to your water pipes etc.. also check your psi. If psi Is too low it will cause increased di consumption
