Can we trust test kits? I don't even know anymore.

I just learned from a wholesaler that the tester I use have been having terrible trouble with their Alk. tests, so they have stopped using theirs and now use Salifert. I have stopped using it as well for Alk. Talk about a waste of $300.

@eXact iDip® I contacted them yet still no response, I guess I'm one of those suckers born every second. Bummer that few of my nicest acros just got scorched because of this tester lied to me.

Do I need to bake the baking soda to get rid of moisture? Or do I just dump it in? Would it be better to just buy soda ash?

Once I switched to Hanna everything just came together. Spot on? Maybe not. Consistent? Yes. They give you their margins of error so that needs to factored into your calculations.

One of my wife's friends is a pharmacist. She was checking out my tank and saw the Hanna boxes. She was very surprised to see Hanna and asked me how much I paid for them. She said Hanna was the premier test kits for biology and most kits cost more than 20 grand. After looking that up I was surprised that she was correct.

Even though hobby grade per say, I am more likely to trust a company who's main purpose is precise testing in the biological and medical field.
