Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on an idea that maybe possible. I see people bleach/wash their filter socks. Instead of paying $15 for a box of 3 mechanical filters and spending $10 in gas to drive to find these. I have a few questions
One side of the mechanical filter is a foam. The other is a polyester fiber.
1)Would bleach cause a chemical reaction with either side? (One side is foam. The other is a polyester fiber)
2)Would this be a very bad idea?
3)What parts of bleach to water ratio if I was to do it?
4)How long "IF" I was to bleach it would you suggest letting it sit to air dry or let it soak in water or both? (After pulling it out of the bleach/water solution to clean it.)
Here is a few pictures of the FLUVAL C4 mechanical filter.
